Throughout September, Otley Rotarians have been busy supporting the ‘Raise the Roof’ appeal, launched by Martin House Childrens’ hospice to finish building superb new facilities for young people with life shortening conditions and their families across Yorkshire. Culminating in our presence at the Otley Farmers’ Market on 28th September, and after receiving donations from both the Ilkley Wharfedale and Settle Rotary clubs, we managed to raise a superb £5,176 with the match funding partner, towards the £360,000 target the hospice needed to ‘raise the roof’. By the end of the fund raising campaign they had smashed this target, raising over £406,000 to complete the work.
