The Rotary Club of Otley was founded over 90 years ago..
Originally founded in the US by Paul Harris, in 1905, Rotary is now a multinational organisation with Clubs meeting in cities, towns and villages all across the world. Wherever Rotary meets, its purpose is the same, embodied in our motto ‘Service above Self’. This is more than just a snappy slogan, it is at the heart of what we do, and wherever disaster strikes, or a need arises, Rotary is there – front and centre!
We meet twice each month to plan (and enjoy) events. Sometimes we host guest speakers, at other times we just enjoy each others company and share stories over a few drinks and a meal. Fellowship is the key, we are a gender mixed Club and welcome members from every walk of life and age group. The qualifications for membership are simple – a willingness to ‘pitch in’ and participate to the best of your ability, nothing more, nothing less.
If you are interested in finding out more, just pop along at 5.30pm to The Fleece, on Westgate, and say hello – or of you prefer, call me (Andy) on 07803 798460.
